Recent research activity in hypersonic boundary layer is published in Physics of Fluids. Intricate transitional phenomena in high-speed flow are well resolved in direct-numerical simulation. Our simulation reveals heat flux peak in the transition process which would be a critical factor for high-speed vehicle design.
